הספר הראשון שלי יצא לאור!
זה סיפור השואה של סבא שלי, מאיר רובין.
הנובלה הגראפית שיצרתי היא שיחה ביני לבינו. המילים שלו, האיורים שלי.
יש חלקים בסיפור של סבא שלי שכל כך רלוונטיים להיום, שאחרי השבעה באוקטובר הייתי צריך לקחת הפסקה בעבודה שלי עליו, בגלל המתח הזה שנוצר בין הסיפור שלו לבין הימים האלה, מתח שממשיך להתחדד עם המציאות המשתנה שלנו.
את הפרוייקט התחלתי באפריל 2023. פרסמתי בפייסבוק פוסטים מהעדות של סבא עם איורים שלי. נוית בראל כתבה לי אחרי כמה פוסטים ״בוא ננסה להוציא את פרוייקט סבא כספר״. נוית האמינה בפרויקט הזה, ערכה את הטקסט ברגישות ועזרה לי לדייק את האיורים בלי לוותר לי. תודה על הסבלנות האין סופית לחוסר הסבלנות שלי, תודה על הליווי לכל אורך הדרך.
תודה לדוד גוטסמן מהוצאת ״פרדס״, שאיך שראה את הקובץ אמר שהוא רוצה להוציא את הספר. תודה לרותם כסלו, עורכת הלשון שלקחה את הטקסט המקורי, סידרה, שיפרה ושיבחה אותו. תודה לכל מי שראה את כתב היד בהתהוות ונתן פידבק.
ולסיום תודה לשניקה, אישתי, שהביקורת שלה תמיד משדרגת את כל מה שאני עושה, על הכריכה שעיצבת ועל זה שאת סובלת את האובססיה שלי על השואה כבר 19 שנה.

My first book has been published!
It tells the Holocaust story of my grandfather, Meir Rubin.
The graphic novel I created is a conversation between the two of us—his words, my illustrations.
There are parts of my grandfather’s story that feel so relevant today that after October 7, I had to take a break from working on it. The tension between his story and these times was overwhelming—and it continues to sharpen as our reality keeps changing.
I began this project in April 2023. I shared posts on Facebook featuring my grandfather’s testimony alongside my illustrations. After a few posts, Navit Barel wrote to me: “Let’s try to turn your grandfather’s project into a book.” Navit believed in this project, edited the text with sensitivity, and helped me refine the illustrations without letting me cut corners. Thank you for your endless patience with my impatience, and for accompanying me throughout this entire journey.
Thank you to David Gottesmann from Pardes Publishing, who, the moment he saw the manuscript, said he wanted to publish the book. Thank you to Rotem Kislev, the language editor, who took the original text, organized it, improved it, and elevated it. Thank you to everyone who read the manuscript as it was taking shape and shared their feedback.
