I haven't been able to post so much recently due to health issues. Sitting for long times was difficult and sitting at my sewing machine was even harder. Thankfully, I am feeling better now and have started creating again.
This is a memory bear, using well remembered shirts.

Last night was the monthly meeting of the Accent Quilters guild. We had so many really beautiful quilts displayed (many being donated to families in need) and a demo on paper piecing.

Since it's inception in 2015, my family has participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s almost every year. It's personal. My mother suffered for over 14 years with this devastating disease before she finally died. My father died while caring for her for most of that time.

Five years ago, I made this quilt from Walk t-shirts and appliqué flowers.
Blue is for someone living with Alzheimer's.
Purple is for someone who has been lost to the disease.
Yellow is for caregivers.
Orange is for people who support the cause.
There is a white one, for survivors -- sadly, this one has never been used.

I donated this quilt (made back in 2021) to the organizers of the Walk, who use it as a yearly reward to the team that earns the most funds. (The team that won in 2022 pictured)

This year, my sister created an outfit from some of her previous Walk shirts!

Today is my granddaughter's 3 month birthday!
I collected novelty fabric for months to create this "I Spy" quilt with over 170 images: animals, plants, foods, tools, trades, textures, symbols, colors and so very much more. These are my favorite baby quilts to make, something that a child can learn and grow with. It should keep her entertained for the next number of years. 😉

CALL FOR ENTRIES!!

The Accent Quilters guild is opening up its annual exhibition to EVERYONE ! Create a QUITED self-portrait in any technique/style you like. Add embellishments. Stretch your imagination!

Rules are simple:
* Size is 20x30" (50x75cm)
* Must be ready to hang
* Deadline is 31 December 2026

The exhibition will hang during January and February, 2027, in Netanya.

I love a splash of color to break up a solid backing.
So, I decided to try a quilt hack that I've been seeing all over the internet. While I was making the stars for the front of the quilt, I was making half square triangles for the back!
Now to figure out how to use them!
