May is here again, and so is the rain. We find ourselves drawn back to a track filled with encrypted meanings and symbolism. We love performing this song, so we’ve revisited it with pleasure to reinterpret its essence. This is a story where much is real, yet it is simultaneously complemented by creative imagination and fiction.
We remember vividly how the very idea for the composition came to life. A May rain literally burst into a streak of hot, sunny days. It was so unexpected and so striking. The city seemed to fill with mysticism; from joyful and bright, it turned serious, somber, and grey.
The lines of rain have slashed the city,
Upon the window pane they trace.
