We are pleased to announce the Fleadh Volunteers have been presented with the The Rotary Club of Wexford Sassmannhausen Award in recognition of the outstanding voluntary service provided to the people of Wexford during the 2024 and 2025 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The Rotary Club of Wexford Sassmannshausen Award was created in honour of Jurgen Sassmannshausen, one of the founding members of the club. Jurgen helped to establish the Rotary Club of Wexford in 1979. Through the Sassmannshausen award, the Rotary Club of Wexford recognises people who make a noteworthy contribution to the same principles it follows, in making a difference in their own community, and are using their energy, passion and intelligence to make the world a better place.
The award was presented to Marian and Greg O’Leary, Volunteer Team Leads and Ronan Griffin, Volunteer Co-Ordinator, who accepted the award on behalf of the over 1,000 Fleadh Volunteers who made the 2024 and 2025 Fleadh such a resounding success, and we sincerely thank the Rotary Club of Wexford for recognising the efforts of the Fleadh Volunteers with this prestigious award.
