Award-winning scientist and author David Robert Grimes explores why we believe misinformation and how critical thinking has never been more important.

🎙️ 2pm – Library Read Aloud (Westport Library)
A special festival edition of Westport Library's much-loved open mic. Readers and listeners are all welcome. Share your own writing or simply come along to enjoy an afternoon of poetry, prose and spoken word. Admission is free.

🏐 4pm – Liam Horan: Up Mayo (Matt Molloy's)
A must for GAA supporters and sports fans as Liam Horan reflects on Mayo's remarkable football journey, unforgettable moments and the passion that makes Mayo football so special.

💻 6.30pm – The Last Good Day on the Internet (Westport Town Hall Theatre)
Journalist and entrepreneur Mark Little discusses how we can shape a better digital future in conversation with Áine Kerr.

Hear Liam's story at the Rolling Sun Book festival on Saturday at 4pm.

Liam Horan has worn many hats since he started following Mayo football in the 1970s.

He observed much of Mayo’s 75-year march to All-Ireland glory from various vantage points over 58 years: as a journalist, a supporter, a club administrator, a member of the Mayo backroom team (in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2023 and 2025), and as Chairman of Mayo GAA’s ill-fated but much talked-about Strategic Review Committee.

The latter two roles, in particular, gave him a glimpse into the inner workings of Mayo GAA that few others have seen.

He documents this in his book, I Can See It Still: Across The Landscape of Mayo Football, a book written in about eight weeks that was a lifetime in the making.
