We recently wrapped up our final session of the five-week course ‘Drawing and Seeing in Charcoal’ with Michael Wann. We were joined by some brilliant artist participants and have received great feedback from our artists🌟

As with this course’s previous two runs, we were thrilled to welcome students from across Ireland and abroad. The work produced over the last five weeks has been absolutely amazing.

Over 5 weeks, you’ll dive into the transformative world of charcoal through self-paced exploration and live Wednesday evening sessions. It’s a great way to build your skills in a supportive, global community. ✨ Back by popular demand! ✨

We’re delighted to welcome Michael Wann back for the third installment of his much-loved interactive charcoal course. After two incredibly successful runs last year, we’re kicking off the new year with another opportunity to dive into this transformative medium. .wann ✍️

This 5 week online course begins on April 15th, with onboarding details shared in advance. It is designed to help you move past the fear of the blank page. Each week, a new topic will be introduced for you to explore in your own time. With Michael’s guidance, you’ll discover just how versatile and forgiving charcoal can be, and how rewarding it is to build skills and confidence through practice.

Weekly live online group sessions with Michael will take place every Wednesday from 6pm - 7.30pm (Irish time). These sessions are a chance to learn, share your work and have fun connecting with other artists.
The schedule has been thoughtfully timed to suit Michael’s global audience - so wherever you’re based, you can join us.

We recently enjoyed a trip to Sligo to visit artist Michael Wann in his studio, ahead of the third installment of his online interactive course, Drawing & Seeing in Charcoal, beginning mid-April 2026.

With Oliver the Studio Assistant keeping a close eye on things, we spent the afternoon chatting about drawing, teaching, and roaming the textured confines of the studio grounds. It was a treat to step into a space that fuels material mastery, magic and mess, and to learn more about Michael’s world.
