On behalf of myself and the rest of the voluntary St. Patrick's Day parade committee, we
would like to announce our retirement as a committee.
We are forever grateful to have been part of such a great crew that worked tirelessly
every year to have a worthy St. Patrick's Day parade. We were very lucky to always have
the full support of the New Ross Municipal District and its staff, An Garda Siochana, our
three local bands, volunteer stewards and all the business and clubs that sponsored
and helped in any way to bring the parade together. There are way too many to mention
individually, such was the support that we have always had, so we would like to take this
opportunity to offer our heartlelt thanks and appreciation to all involved with us in
making the parade a success every year.
We look back on the many years of parades, the grand marshals and club/communities
that were honored over the years and the amazing participants that turned out in all
weathers and dressed up in whatever theme we had picked and entertained everyone
along the route. We feel a huge sense of pride in our town and community who never let
us down and have surpassed themselves year after year.
The feedback we received every year was tantamount to this with many saying we were
as good as the big city parades. On that note, we feel now as a committee that it is time
to hand over the baton. Every organization needs fresh eyes and ideas after a certain
time, and we feel this time is now. All we want is to see the parade get bigger and better
every year and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

We are all looking forward to enjoying the parade next year as spectators and would like
to take this opportunity to wish the new committee that forms all the very best with it as
it is a very precious entity that has served our town so well over many years.
