We’re getting very close now.

A quick update on where things stand as we get ready to welcome our first golfers to Tee It Up Golf School.

🟢 Equipment: Ordered and delivered
🟢 Clubs: Ordered and awaiting delivery
🟠 Coach safeguarding: Taking place this week
🟠 Garda vetting: Awaiting receipt
🟢 Public liability insurance: Secured
🟢 Venues: Secured

We’re now in the final stages of getting everything ready.

Once the remaining safeguarding and Garda vetting requirements are completed, we’ll update the website and first term bookings will be available online next week.

The first term will run for five weeks, beginning in the first week of October.

Our school. Our promise. ⛳️

Tee It Up was built around a simple belief:

Every child has a place in golf.

The logo is designed to reflect exactly what we want Tee It Up to be.

The Tee represents the child taking their first step into golf.

The sweep represents movement, progress and the journey that every golfer takes.

The flag represents having something to aim for. Not necessarily a score or a trophy, but the next little milestone, whatever that might be for that child.

And the name itself, Tee It Up, is an invitation.

Have a go. Give it a try. Get involved.

Our promise is bigger than teaching children how to hit a golf ball.

We want to develop confident kids and create lifelong golfers.

Because the best outcome isn’t simply a better golfer.

It’s a child who enjoys the game, feels like they belong and wants to come back and play again.

That is Tee It Up.

If children aren’t enjoying golf, why would they want to keep playing it?

Fun isn’t something we add to the end of a coaching session.

It’s where everything starts.

At Tee It Up, we believe children learn best when they’re engaged, curious and having a genuinely good time.

That means games.

Challenges.

Competition when it’s appropriate.

Plenty of laughter.

And sometimes, just letting kids figure things out for themselves.

Because their first experience of golf shouldn’t feel like a lesson.

It should feel like play.

We want children leaving Tee It Up thinking:

“When can I do that again?”

That’s how you start building a lifelong relationship with the game.

Golf should be something kids want to do, not something they feel they have to do.

Golf has spent a long time feeling like a sport you need to already understand before you can belong.

We want to change that.

At Tee It Up, you don’t need golfing parents.

You don’t need expensive equipment.

You don’t need experience.

You don’t need to be naturally good at golf.

And you certainly don’t need to know all the rules.

You just need to be willing to give it a go.

Every child arrives with a different starting point.

Some will pick up a club for the first time.

Some will already be playing.

Some will be confident.

This is my son, Christopher 💙 🧩

Born on the Friday of the Ryder Cup in 2010, He’s about to turn 15 and when he was diagnosed with autism at age 2, at that time I couldn’t imagine him having what many call a “typical childhood.”

Things like playing sports, making eye contact, showing spontaneous joy, or developing passions of his own all felt so far away back in 2012.

But here we are. Through years of self-learning, research, certifications, and an unshakable belief in his potential, I’ve applied those (along with incredible supports from .ireland, , his primary school and now Christopher not only enjoys school and life, he loves golf. 🏌️‍♂️

As golf has always been my beloved sport, seeing him embrace it has been a dream come true. Alongside his two younger sisters (5 & 2), Christopher is one of the biggest reasons I’m founding Tee It Up Golf School to create a space where joy, growth, and opportunity come together for kids of all abilities.

Whilst it’s taking longer than I envisioned, I am hopeful of announcing a venue near Naas soon to begin activity. Until then, please so fill out and/or share the expression of interest form on the website.

We can’t wait to introduce as many kids as possible to the game we love – and it all starts here. Let’s tee it up!

Fun, Inclusivity and Learning

Our why:
The Tee it Up Golf School’s mission is to help all kids have fun learning the lifelong game of golf and to encourage family interaction that builds lasting memories.

Tee it Up Golf School aims to welcome kids of all abilities, genders and ethnicities to the sport in an accessible and inclusive way then we can set them on the pathway to becoming the golf club members of the future and sustaining this wonderful game for generations to come.

In many golf club environments, children are unable to become a member until they are at least 10 years of age. The current process to join a golf club is a barrier to participation.

There is little to no access to golf for children with physical, intellectual, developmental or behavioural disabilities.

The demands on people’s leisure time are growing and the options for how to spend that time are greater than ever before. That’s why it’s so important that we take golf to where people are rather than expecting them to take their first steps in the game at established golf clubs.
