Follow us for more details. Monaghan will be alive with music on Saturday 12 July with five top tribute bands from across Ireland rocking the town. The outside yard at McKenna’s Bar & Venue will be hosting the first Tribute 2 Festival in Monaghan with tributes to BLACK SABBATH, RORY GALLAGHER, METALLICA, QUEEN and THIN LIZZY. Doors open at 2 p
m and local band Supernaut will be opening proceedings at 3 pm. With their energetic set, the band has been gaining fans from all over Ireland since their formation in 2010. Featuring the blistering guitar work of Stephen Marsden, Brian Murphy on bass, Michael McGoran on drums, and Brian Newell belting out Ozzy Osbourne’s lyrics, the band pays homage to the BLACK SABBATH classics – hear “War Pigs”, “Paranoid”, “Iron Man”, and many more songs made famous by the greatest heavy metal band of the era. If you can't get to BLACK SABBATH's farewell concert on the 5th July this gig is for you! Next up is the Barry McGivern Band, Ireland's longest running RORY GALLAGHER Tribute band with their pedal to the metal performances of Rory's music. The band are regular performers at the RORY GALLAGHER festival in Ballyshannon, and have been wowing audiences across Ireland with their tone, harmonics, blistering solos, highs and pin drop lows. Third on the menu are Master of Pulpits, who have been one of the busiest bands on the circuit this year, thrilling audiences throughout Ireland. If you like METALLICA you will love Master of Pulpits! With a set including METALLICA favourites “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters”,Master of Pulpits deliver authentic, high-octane performances. Irelands no.1 and best Tribute to METALLICA! The Queen Magic Experience may be Northern Ireland’s newest celebration of the music of QUEEN, but they are one of the best and they are red hot! With a set loaded with hit songs that suit every taste, you will not be disappointed. “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “We Are The Champions”, “I Want To Break Free””Crazy Little Thing Called Love” ….. The list of great songs goes on forever! You too can enjoy this magic experience! To top off the Tribute 2 Festival, Thin Az Lizzy, will be paying tribute to THIN LIZZY and PHIL LYNOTT. Ireland’s longest established THIN LIZZY tribute band has been on the road since 1985. Having appeared at the annual Vibe for Philo in Dublin on numerous occasions notably in Vicar Street with Brian Robertson and John Earle, toured Germany, Austria,Belgium, Holland and France. Philomena Lynott also endorsed the band, saying “Johnny D Fox Conlon (bassist and lead singer) had an uncanny resemblance to Philip’s voice”The lads are currently selling out shows across Ireland and a tour of Holland is scheduled.The boys are definitely back in town! SOSAD Ireland will have collection boxes at this years Tribute 2 Festival with boxes at McKenna’s & Venue on the 12th of July. SOSAD will also receive 5% of net ticket sales.
