⭐️Mohill Announced as Host Town for the 2026 Connacht Fleadh⭐️
Mohill, County Leitrim, has been officially announced as the host town for the 2026 Connacht Fleadh, a major celebration of Irish traditional music, song, and dance organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. The announcement was confirmed by Michael Cusack, Chairperson of Connacht Comhaltas, marking a highly anticipated return of the provincial fleadh to Mohill for the first time since 2010.
Running from June 28th to July 5th, 2026, the Connacht Fleadh will feature a full week of cultural events, sessions, concerts, workshops, and community celebrations. The competitive element of the festival will take place from Friday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 5th, with dancing competitions scheduled for Friday and all other competitions taking place across Saturday and Sunday.
The Connacht Fleadh serves as a key qualifying event for musicians, singers, and dancers hoping to secure a coveted place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann – the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil – making Mohill a central gathering point for talented performers from across the province.
Speaking about the announcement, Fionnuala Maxwell, Chairperson of Connacht Fleadh 2026, warmly welcomed the return of the provincial Fleadh to the town:
“It is a great honour for Mohill to host the 2026 Connacht Fleadh. Our town has a proud and longstanding connection to traditional music, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate that heritage on a provincial stage.
The enthusiasm within the community is already palpable, and our organising committee is committed to creating an unforgettable week of music, song, dance, and cultural celebration. We look forward to welcoming competitors, families, visitors, and friends from across Connacht and beyond to Mohill next summer.”
Further details on venues, programming, and accommodation will be announced in the coming months🎶

This weekend we visited Station Master Michael Kennedy at Dromod Station. He gave us a fantastic tour and took us for a ride on Nancy, a beautifully restored locomotive from 1908.

It was fascinating to see and read about all of the historic planes, trains and automobiles that Michael has collected. If you're interested in historic memorabilia, especially locomotives, you have to visit Dromod Station🚂🛤
