‘Growth’ - A3 Mixed Media Print, July 2024

Still love this print I created while on a residency in Galway two years ago. This print channels the connection between nature and healing, it represents the overlapping and intertwined elements of recovery from illness and how nature and art can also help us to heal.

‘Arco della Pace’ lino cut reduction print created at the Print Studio at Leitrim Sculpture Centre based on part of my time in Milan, Italy.

This print was created in multiple layers in 2022 based on a photo from one of my many runs and walk’s through the area. The arch itself is a symbol of peace and unity which is something I feel we need to hold onto during these ongoing difficult times.

It’s amazing how retracing our footsteps and our journey through life can help us make more sense of the world around us. This print for me, now almost 4 years later, represents a change in my perspective and a form of playful experimentation in my work. I can see how my artwork has developed from that point onwards and changed over time but this print will always hold a special place in my heart holding not only the memories of place but also the markings of learning by doing.

In case you’ve wondered why I’ve been a little quiet on the art front lately... it’s because I’m getting married in less than three months! 🥂

Between wedding planning, work and workshops, life has been a beautiful, busy blur. But this past weekend, my incredible friends reminded me exactly what I needed. They surprised me with a hen party in Westport, and because they know me so well, they made sure creativity was also at the heart of it. We spent a hilarious afternoon at a “Paint and Prosecco” session and it was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun.

It was a much needed reminder to value the people who truly “get” you. I’ve realised over the years that my creativity doesn’t just come from within, it is fueled by the people who inspire me and encourage my passion.

Having friends who not only support my work but join in on the making is such a gift. It reminded me of the importance of good friends, time out, and celebrating the people who push us to keep creating.

Life is complicated and we’re all fighting our own battles, but the world always needs more kindness and care. I’m so grateful that I have creativity as my outlet to help spread a little joy, and even more grateful to have great friends who are a constant source of inspiration ✨

Was a pleasure to speak today at the National Primary Care Summit on behalf of and explain more about the work Helium does in hospitals, communities and online for children and young people with long-term health conditions.

It was an extremely interesting and engaging day! Thank you to Investnet for having us as part of it.

As most of you know, through my own personal experience over the recent years I have been lucky enough to learn firsthand the impact creative engagement can have on your health and wellbeing.

gives children with long-term physical health conditions a sense of confidence, belonging and friendship.

As part of the Making of Magic Appeal five talented young people who attend Helium workshops have created stunning pieces of art which are available exclusively for digital download to help raise much needed funds to help spread the Helium magic further.

To support Helium this Christmas you can purchase a print or simply make a donation, follow the link in my stories or visit - https://helium.ie/

I’d also really appreciate it if you could share this appeal with anyone in your network who you think may be interested ✨
