We have been blessed to have the support of such an iconic brand as MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre as our headline sponsor over the last five years. We know that recent months have been extremely challenging for all our sponsors and we wish Marion, Donna and all the team the very best in the weeks and months ahead 💜 Thank You 💜

Today should have marked 5 years of our involvement with the JJ Reddy Danesfort Run and we were so excited to celebrate the occasion with another fantastic event!🥳Unfortunately it was not to be this year but we couldn't let the day pass without acknowledging the hard work of Aileen, Olivia and all the committee!👏 We've created some amazing memories over the past few years-roll on 2021!🙌

IT’S VEGAS BABY!!!

The Kells King has just passed through party central due to a massive influx of kilometers from The Watershed Kilkenny. Thankfully there was no time to hit the town as he’s on a mission and is now motoring towards home.

As you now are aware we have been told of a few planned cycles on Sunday so have decided to extend our challenge until then to allow others to participate.

As we now stand we are just 746km from NEW YORK!! And a total of 5,746km from home we have a big task ahead over the next 48hrs but I know it’s in us.

Thanks so much to everyone for their support but we aren’t done yet. So 48hrs to get those kilometers in and some more donations if in a position so also.

The JJ Reddy Danesfort Run Committee regret to announce the cancellation of our 2020 event. We have not taken this decision lightly but we do so in the interest of public health and the safety and wellbeing of our participants and volunteers.

We are also mindful of our sponsors, supporters and partners who have so generously supported our event over the last eight years and we wish them every success as they rebuild and adapt their business over the coming weeks and months.

All those registered will receive a refund in due course.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Danesfort in September 2021!

Stoneyford 10k Challenge have made the difficult but important decision to cancel their event for 2020. They have, however, set their 2021 date! So be sure to put that in your running calendar.

We’ll all be hungry for these days out come 2021 😭

4 weeks from yesterday should have seen us hosting our 11th Annual 10k, with the addition of a brand new 5k ☹️.
With the world the way it is, obviously this will not be happening on May 17th.
Our committee debated and discussed the options, but we kept coming back to the question of “what is best, what is safest for our little community?”.

This event is what it is due to the participation and involvement of the whole village 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👪👭👨‍👧‍👦👨‍👨‍👧‍👦. It is our day to welcome you with open arms into our warm hearted community 😍. In all good conscience, even at this early stage of the year, we didn’t feel we could promote a rescheduled 2020 date without upsetting our community, or you, our visitors.

With that motive being the driving force, the decision to cancel the 2020 event and host an amazing 2021 5k and 10k (AND Kids 1k of course!), while disappointing, was actually easy.

So if you were aiming for our 5k, you now have lots of time to get to 10k instead! 😆

Sincerest thanks to previous participants, amazing volunteers and very generous sponsors 🙌🙌. We look forward to welcoming you all back again on May 16th 2021, where you can even get yourself a spectacular 2020 10k medal for the race that wasn’t!
