🕯️Step back in time to 1324 and uncover the chilling tale of Ireland’s first Witchcraft Trial during Kilkenny’s newest festival "Toil and Trouble", running from October 28th to November 3rd, 2024.

We are delighted to host a number of events throughout the festival here in the Cathedral- where 700 years ago, Bishop Ledrede held the See of Ossory from 1317 to 1360.

📕 The Red Book of Ossory Lecture Series takes place from the 27th of September as we welcome Dr Adrian Empey to the Cathedral.

Rev. Dr Adrian Empey was principal of the Church of Ireland Theological College between 2001 and 2008. He is a Medieval Irish Historian and is the foremost expert on the contents of the Red Book of Ossory, now on display in St. Canice’s Cathedral for the first time ever. He is currently editing a translation of the Red Book for the Irish Manuscripts Commission.

After hours admission to the Red Book of Ossory exhibition included.
