Why Backing Tracks vs Sheet Music?
Stef talks a little about why we are using backing tracks instead of sheet music for Matilda Auditions in Kerry for our upcoming production of Matilda in Killarney next season.

Make sure you check out our post on how to find, download and/or save music backing tracks for singers!

Weโ€™ve put together some useful resources to help you find a backing track for your audition.

Here are some other items to consider for picking a best track for your audition.
- Make sure there are no other backing vocals in the track. Some instrumental versions only take out the lead vocals but leave in the background singers.
- try to find a track with good orchestration. Some tracks are made using midi sounds, these can sound compressed and messy and wonโ€™t accompany you best during your audition.
- Using a track with just a piano playing is absolutely fine! Most auditions would be done with sheet music and a live accompanist so this would mimic that process closer.

Put your other questions regarding audition tracks or song choices below or DM us and weโ€™ll be happy to answer any other questions you may have!
