Photographers of Headford and beyond, we would be delighted to receive your submissions on the subject of 'Connectivity' for inclusion in this year's festival photographic exhibition. 

All of the details are on the image, and we are open to submissions from amateur and professional photographers. 

To submit, you'll need to bring your framed work to the location on the given dates (above) and include the following - your name, phone number and email address, and the title and date of the work.

We can't wait to see what you bring!

We're delighted to have the wonderful Alan McMonagle joining us for our 'In Conversation with Patrick Doherty' event in October.

He has published two novels, Ithaca (Picador, 2017) and Laura Cassidy’s Walk Of Fame (Picador, 2020), and has also written for radio, stage, and published two collections of short stories (Psychotic Episodes and Liar Liar). His poetry has appeared in a wide variety of publications.

So that's the line up complete! But there'll also been room for some audience participation, and time to browse and buy books by these authors, with thanks to The Turning Pages Bookshop 🍄 in Tuam, who will be joining us on the night!

Hello! We're so sorry we kept you waiting, but we've been busy!

But we're delighted to announce that the brilliant and lovely Elizabeth Reapy, Rooney Prize Winner and author of Red Dirt and Skin, will be joining Patrick Doherty on 1st October to talk about all things book related! In recent years, she was Dublin UNESCO City of Literature Writer in Residence, Mayo County Council Writer in Residence. She currently mentos for Minding Creative Minds,cand is curator and presenter at Writers in The Attic for Doolin Arts, interviewing Ireland's leading writers of Literary Fiction.

This year, we have no less that three incredible Irish writers joining us for Something In The Water! 

Patrick Doherty hails from County Longford, and his debut novel, Pure Innocent Boy, was published in 2025 by Dedalus Press. 

A life long lover of books, Patrick will host a couple of readings by two other writers of note, and will also be discussing the books that shaped their lives.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the wonderfully talented Dave Clancy will playing this year's festival!

Dave is a versatile musician whose songs and finger-style guitar playing combine the acoustic folk of Nick Drake while maintaining strong links to the Irish folk tradition Dave has collaborated on many projects around Ireland with highly regarded musicians and singers  such Bernie Pháid, The Whileaways, Pauline Scanlon, Darragh O'Dea, Seán Keane and many more.

If you haven't ever been to a Dave Clancy gig, now is your chance! 

Not only will he be performing, but he'll also be hosting a song writing workshop, as he is also a music facilitator and educator who holds an MA in Community Music from The University of Limerick.With experience teaching all ages and abilities, he creates fun, supportive workshops that foster a lifelong love of music.
