A year ago today, I launched myself, and my art, at my first solo exhibition. Just six months earlier, I’d realised what was missing and made the decision to give this art thing a proper go.

Now, 18 months into this journey, I’m reminding myself to look back and recognise my progress. Most of these pieces have found new homes, something that still feels pretty unbelievable.

That opening night was such a special celebration, with so many people joining me and my family to celebrate Land, Sea, and Sky through stitch. It was a big moment, and I’m so glad I took the leap.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me, collected my work, shared it with others, or simply followed along. Every conversation, every message, every bit of support has helped me build a life that feels more like me.

New ideas taking root 🌱

A page from my current art journal. I’m exploring neurons, plants, roots, networks… the structures that connect us.

The more I look, the more I come back to the same thing: tiny repeated actions matter. One stitch, one choice, one connection at a time.

Isn’t it funny how framing something changes it?

This piece had been sitting in my studio for a while, but once it was framed, it became something new. More complete. More evocative.

I’ve shown it here before: a stitched section of my uncle’s farm from above.

This place featured in my childhood, and continues to hold a very special place in my heart and memories.

It has now been gifted to the custodians of the farm, those who know and love it best.

Something new is in the works.

This is the final stage before stitching: Getting the ideas gathered onto paper.

It’s not about making a polished drawing (you won’t find such a thing from me!). It’s about working out shape, movement, scale, and how the pieces might sit together as a collection. This is the formalising of the research and ponderings.
