The Baboró 2026 festival box office is now open! 🎟️

Taking place in Galway from 9 – 18 October, the 30th year of Baboró will feature more than 60 arts experiences by artists and performers from Ireland and across Europe, including theatre, dance, circus, music, literature, film and visual arts 🤩

Commenting on the announcement of the festival programme, Baboró’s Executive Artistic Director Aislinn Ó hEocha said: “We strive to create a festival that is exciting, welcoming and full of possibility, and we want as many children as possible to be part of it. This is the time of year when children take over the city – when the theatres, galleries and streets belong to them!” ❤

Today we remember our dear friend and colleague Teenagh Cunningham. Teenagh believed passionately in the immense value the arts can have in a child's life.

As General Manager of Baboró 2007 - 2015, Teenagh worked tirelessly for the right of all children in our community to access the arts.

Teenagh's father Luke sadly died in 2025 and very kindly left a donation to Baboró in his will. His donation will enable children from community groups across Galway city and county to attend the festival this October, carrying on the work that was so close to Teenagh's heart.

Join the flock! 🐦 Baboró chatted to local chef, restauranteur and author JP McMahon about why he is proud to be a Birdie Buddy.

By donating and becoming one of Birdie’s Buddies JP helps to:

♥️ Keep the festival open and affordable to all children
♥️ Enrich children’s lives through the arts
♥️ Champion the importance of the arts in every childhood

The arts are a vital part of childhood — shaping empathy, confidence and a sense of belonging. While every child has the right, not every child has the opportunity 🎭
