Go raibh míle maith agaibh gach duine for joining us at our first ever Cruinniú Artist Gathering! 🫶

We had such a wholesome evening, as Festival Director, Jess Harkin, let us know what’s to come from GTF in 2027 while informing everyone of upcoming Artist Development opportunities for local artists.

We then had some interesting debates, ate some yummy pizza and had great chats with great company! 🙌

CUISLE is GTF’s artist development programme supporting theatre makers from Galway or with a strong connection to Galway and the West to develop bold new work and we couldn’t be more excited about this year’s cohort 🌟

Applications are now open for the CUISLE Artist Residency 2026 🤩

Got a theatre idea bubbling away that needs space, time and support to take shape? Apply to our week-long residency for theatre artists in the heart of Galway!

Galway Theatre Festival and Fishamble: The New Play Company have come together for our second year to deliver a residency for theatre artists based in or connected to Galway. This week-long residency is all about giving you the headspace, guidance and dramaturgical tools to develop a project for the stage.

🗓️ Residency takes place from 24 to 28 of August, 2026
📝 Deadline to apply: 21 July, 5pm

We strongly encourage applications from artists working in the Irish language, and those from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented communities. Inclusion is a key value of this residency and we are committed to supporting a wide range of voices and experiences. Two places are reserved for theatre artists based in Galway County, supported by Galway County Arts Office.

A stellar show where Emer Dineen grapples with love in a lonely capitalist paradigm through her drag persona, crumbling club-kid ‘Cupid’ 💘

Hungover, moulting and disorientated, our redundant deity battles modern lite, unravelling Emer’s true story of navigating loss, crises, chaotic relationships and feeling the sweet sting of meaningful connection where she least expects it.

0800 CUPID is an SOS response to the swelling social anxiety of a post-pandemic pre-apocalyptic world. A camp catalyst for reconnection; it’s a musical march into and back from the existential brink.
