Let us begin with “THE MAN”
played by Chris Larkin

Chris Larkin – Author & Performer

Born and raised in Enniscorthy, Ireland, Chris Larkin is a writer and performer drawn to the eerie crossroads of folklore, horror, and imagination. He’s the author of three books and has just completed his first stage play, which he looks forward to bringing to life with the Enniscorthy Theatre Company

Through his novels, Chris explores the supernatural and the unknown, while his stage and musical work infuse that same haunting atmosphere with real emotion. New to both writing and performance, Chris is already crafting stories that stay with audiences long after the final page—or curtain—falls.

Tis the Screaming, howling season of all things grisly, ghouly & spookiness galore!

Fear not, the Macabre Theatre & Film Society are slowly creeping out of the Shadows of pre-production, formation, cast scheduling & shoot/launch rescheduling & will be filming ‘The Walk Home’ in due course, further to announcing our rescheduled official Launch for 2026.

A slow brew tastes better, the blood, sweat & tears of over 2yrs in development will become abundantly clear - we are about Inclusivity, Diversity, Minority.
To engage those who find themselves out on the fringes, outcast, interested but hold trepidation, a unique blend of Neurodivergents, Multinationals, Disabled, LGBTQ+, All-ages with an interest in a neuroaffirmative, manifesting immersive approach to theatre/film projects & writing/development workshops.

We had huge interest when doing our 2023 due diligence & putting feelers about the town - with many artists/venues offering excitement, space for us & by 2025 we were applying for funding - it has been an interesting route to here.

We look forward to finally bringing it all out into the open in 2026 with a regular scheduled series in development within the town with our local talent.

Art, like these sculptures from the now closed Victor’s Way, can often take years to come to fruition.

We hope your patience will be duly rewarded.

The heat of the rare visiting ball of hydrogen & helium here on the emerald isle, has the Macabre Theatre & Film Society in hiding for our lives!!
Blood dries up, whilst at boiling point, fangs detracted whilst the thirst to get busy consumes us, energy depleated from infectious droplets lingered too long - it has been a pitiful song!

So, we somehow found ourselves joining bsky 😱

Something dark & eerie descended upon Enniscorthy; while the sunshine brought all out to frolic, a simmering, stirring, devious presence sauntered in unannounced - lurking shadily in the crooks & crannies of our historic town, waiting, so quietly waiting, to devour his appetite whet.
A new artistic endeavour bubbling & brewing in the town for score and four lunar cycles, nearing its unveiling, was the very nibble the ghostly figure desired.
Seeing the depth with which this darkly delicious offering pertained, he swooped in to take the reins - what launch that was meant to be, now fades into the breeze.
Renewed breath, as energy implores, to take a stand of what lies afore, this presence we shall not adore.

As we seek high and low to confront this darkly devious foe - we regret to inform you of our Launch postponement.

The Macabre Theatre & Film Society Launch will be given a new and later date.

Meanwhile, our teaser 2-minute film will still go ahead into production.

Keep your ears open and eyes wide shut; we will announce the new launch date in due course.

The evolution of the Macabre Theatre & Film Society began in 2023 as a haunting seed of creativity.
Within the shadows of an ADHD mind.
Slowly brewing like a premium tea.
Like petals unfolding on the bud of a pure black rose.

2024 saw it gently & deliberately ageing like a fine wine.
Weaving the threads together like a delicate lace.
Do not rush, the time will come, the tribe will feel it, when all is said & done.

The teaser short was written, the structure now as one.
The Committee was formed & so we went on.

2025 teaser production in prep.
Launch date deciphering to screen at the pres.
But wait, here’s our first communal activity in offering.
Funding applications are focused yet quite stifling.

So here we are a balancing act between two projects so near.
The launch date will soon be released so everything becomes clear.

Neuroaffirmative. Equality. Macabre. Inclusivity.

We were a slow brew, but with that comes great taste, that’s what we offer, a safe space with no pressure or haste.

The Macabre Theatre & Film Society is a community amateur theatre & film group, launching this Spring in Enniscorthy.
We aim to provide, cater to, and engage primarily with minority groups.
We are a committee of creative professionals who have been working on developing a niche community group in every sense of the word.
This project is open to the public for membership, yet is more aligned to individuals who are by social design left out on the fringes, are minority social groups, that are underappreciated, under-serviced, misunderstood or catered less to in some fashion.
