'Paths to Freedom'
A recently completed commision for Michael Collins House and Cork County Council to commemorate the signing of the truce that brought an end to the war of Independence 100 years ago today.
Along with Michael Collins the piece also features Tadhg An Asna and Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa, two very influential figures in Clonakilty. Lots of additional symbols and representations that depict a timeline in irish history to the celebrations of the truce.
Big big thanks to the for facilitating and getting me involved in another really cool project.

Sharing a town with one of the most famous ships in the world would be an envious task to some, but not for this old beauty....she is not a high maintenance kinda gal 😁 most recently getting tagged with some urban artwork adding to her grungy exterior .... built by Dublin Dockyard 111 years ago, the "Port Lairge" worked as Waterford's port dredger into the early 80's before being eventually sold for 3,000 pounds in 1987 sailing to her final destination in .....The ship was powered by her own steam and is the last vessel of this vintage or type built in Ireland.

Some info on the ship.
A steam grab dredger, completed in August 1907 for Waterford Harbour Commissioners by Dublin Dockyard, Dublin, Ireland (57) 401 g.t., as 'Portlairge' and always under this name.
She remained in service until 1980.
Waterford Harbour commisioners had planned to sell her to Maryport Maritime Museum, Cumbria, but the plans fell through.
The vessel was eventually sold to a man from Saltmills in County Wexford for 3,000 pounds in 1987 and sailed under her own steam to her final destination. The Portlairge is now lying beached in Bannow Bay near Saltmills and has deteriorated considerably.

'Grey Area'
New piece painted in support of the Grey Area Project, a great initiative spearheaded by SUBSET their aim is to challenge the rules governing the planning regulations in regard Dublin public art.
'At present, the system which covers the production of large format artwork within the outdoor realm us unnecessarily complex, arduous and, we believe, prohibitive to the cultivation, evolution and progression of public art culture'
Head over to www.subset.ie for further info about the project and follow to watch the story unfold.

Looking forward to a little trip up North tomorrow where ill be painting along side some serious talent.
