Art Jam Irland founded in 2007. Pioneer in making once off art activities mainstream.
In 2007, Deirdre Geraghty, set up Art Jam Ireland providing once off painting sessions to the adult market, with the belief that everyone is an artist but not everyone wants to sign up for a serious art class. Art Jams are about having fun and making art fun, having a drink with your friends and a paintbrush in the other hand and good music in the background. It was new and it was strange. Art was for kids, so she was told. It will never work! who wants to spend their time painting! but slowly and surely it did work. Clients include Google, Dropbox, Deloitte, Facebook, Irish Sports Council, Vodafone, IBM, Wolfgang Digital, Luas to name a few and the list goes on! People that participated enjoyed the experience. Starting off offering once off art activities to the corporate market for team building, staff fun, family days and art workshops and then in 2008 Art Jam Ireland tapped into the hen party market by creating Paint A N**e, this was an incredible success, it brought the idea of a once off fun painting activity to the mainstream market. Now in 2020 with tens of thousands of participants over the years, participating in a once of painting session is mainstream. Art is not just for artists. Art is for everyone and the mental health benefits cannot be taken for granted. Creating art has the ability to help you get into a meditative state, it helps you zone out, relieves stress and anxiety by reducing cortisol, encourages focus, increases happiness and creates dopamine (the motivator). Art activities can be enjoyed with friends, with work colleagues, with strangers and everyone is an artist. Everyone is creative and the proof is in the pudding.. or the painting ! :-)
