They asked us with their eyes, and we said yes, we would yes, yes. Luckily, they followed up in writing and we all agreed on what that yessing meant.
So here we are again this year singing our little hearts out on Bloomsday in the teachers’ club, with songs Jim himself would have sung, songs Jimmy would’ve known, and songs that the man himself would enjoy.
You’re more than welcome to come and enjoy them. We’ll have a few readings as well. Sure we couldn’t not have them, considering the day is about a buke.
Open to all, especially if you’re wearing your granny’s clothes and calling them ‘Edwardian’.
From 8pm.

On 26 June we welcome one of Ireland’s traditional song living legends: Jerry O’Reilly, for the Góilín launch of this publication. No doubt he’ll give us a few from Tom’s collection. You might do so yourself!

They travelled from down the country, up to join us in the heart of Dublin for the night. A night of song, with a Wexford tinge. Great to have the Gorey singers with us for the evening.
And we in turn are delighted to give people from Wexford a reason to travel to Dublin this summer, because their hurlers won’t be giving them any!! But they can surely sing better than they can hurl, at least that’s what it sounded like this evening. Great to have them.

A weekend of welcome for not one but two guest singers this Friday. Appalachia meets Wexford on this night, with Olivia and Aileen finding common ground between the respective singing traditions either side of the Atlantic, songs from Bunclody to Kentucky.
Come join us! Listen. Sing.

A summer night; a good night.

If you weren’t there, where were you?

Better yet, join us this Sunday for a stroll around the liberties. Our second singing and walking tour as part of . All details on their website, or via a link in our bio (on Instagram).

Whatever the mood, a night like this evening would forever give solace. The endurance of song was in plentiful display. And if you’re ever in the market for a balm for the soul, seek out a mother-daughter harmony.
We’ll be back next Friday. With more songs from the heart. Will you be with us?
