BRING BACK A BIT OF RAIN AND A NICE COOL BREEZE!
Mother of Divine Jesus!
I’ve never been hit this bad! Although my research tells me there is a connection to… 🥁🥁🥁Menopause! (Don’t get me started…)
BUT the real message here is wear sunscreen! Even if it’s cloudy… get the SPF on you!
I’ve had my fair share of severe sunburn in my youth -
Tramore - mid 1980s springs to mind - I had to spend about 2 days in the tent. There were blisters, peeling skin… !
We weren’t aware of the dangers and also knowing critical information that very pale people like me don’t tan!!
I used to dream about having a tan… Remember there were tablets you could take to increase the melanin in your skin? I would have buying that sort of sh*te!
By the time I was in my mid 20s, I decided to embrace my paleness. Fake tan wasn’t even an option - I never felt right wearing it! (I still haven’t forgiven you for making me get a spray tan for your wedding!). I was in Australia for 18 months in the late 90s and I was probably one of the whitest people there. I could easily be found on the beach because I would be wearing a big hat, and I would have a towel wrapped around me!
THe funny thing is, no matter how well I think I have applied sunscreen, the missed bits get found by the sun! It’s like the sun is seeking me and my missed bits out - ah Jaysus there’s Moen, let’s give her a few stripes! 😛
So be sensible and cover up, wear sunscreen, every day, 365 days of the year!
I was going to say - look at me! - but check in next week when the frizzy, huffy, puffy look has died down!
OMG I think I see clouds! Hurray!
