What an incredible four days! History was made as the SCOOP Foundation’s largest art auction to date raised €𝟐𝟑𝟐,𝟒𝟕𝟎!
The funds raised at the SCOOP Art Auction 2021 will be split 50/50 between the participating artists and the SCOOP Foundation. The funds raised will enable SCOOP to continue the development and delivery of ‘SCOOP Ed’ to young Internally Displaced People (IDPs) living in camps in Iraq, and refugees living in Direct Provision Centres here in Ireland. Not only this, but the funds will also go towards supporting survivors of ISIS violence, mother’s and children, through a Psycho-social Programme in Iraq.
This year’s auction featured a very special artwork by Harmanpreet Kaur. She is a 17 year old currently living in Direct Provision in Ireland. Harmanpreet entitled her piece ‘Adol’ which is punjabi for Steadfast, as she says “It tells a story about me, my family and many children who suffered and will strive to fight for a better future.”
The SCOOP Art Auction 2021 was hosted by SCOOP founders Andy and Calvin this past weekend. It was streamed live from the The Copper House in Dublin and broadcast online via the Invaluable platform. I had the pleasure of curating this year’s auction which featured hundreds of artists who so kindly donated their artwork to raise funds for such a worthy cause. With a total of 430 artworks, this year’s auction was the largest in SCOOP’s history and one of the largest charity art auctions in Irish history!
A HUGE thank you to all of the artists who donated work to the auction this year, to all of the buyers and to all of you who have tuned in, supported and shared this year’s event!
Please go follow SCOOP Foundation to learn more about the incredible work that they do!
