Born into a family rich in Musical heritage, Shane initially took up the piano from a young age, taking lessons from his Father, Tony, and later studying privately. Whilst studying Piano, Shane began taking violin lessons privately, subsequently moving to study with Paddy Fitzgerald (ex-NSO) at the WIT Music School and more recently with retired CIT Senior Violin lecturer Una Kindlon, Cork. Shane
has been fortunate enough to play with many orchestras including WIT Senior Orchestra, South East Regional Youth Orchestra and at present is 1st violin with City of Cork Symphony Orchestra, having recently played to a packed stadium for Katherine Jenkins and Jose Carreras. Shane has a number of certifications in both Piano and Violin from ABRSM and RIAM and has been involved in various competitions, winning 2nd prize/silver Medal in the Senior Violin competition of the Fintan O'Carroll Feis. As a pianist, Shane has accompanied both vocal and instrumental soloists ,musical groups, choirs including the Waterford-Omagh peace choir, for large concerts, intimate recitals, drinks receptions, weddings and local/national exams including leaving certificate, RIAM and ABRSM. The highlight of Shane's musical career, has been providing a unique musical experience to couples for weddings, Civil Partnerships and engagements. Shane enjoys facilitating individual music tastes from Bach to Beethoven, Faure to Fleetwood Mac and everything in between.
