Participants from the MTU Cork School of Music Gregorian Chant for Beginners course 2026 will present a Gregorian Chant Vespers under the direction of Dr Rhoda Dullea, 3pm Sunday afternoon, 30 August 2026, in Saints Peter and Paul’s Church. All welcome!

Another CSM adult education course in the area of medieval and Renaissance vocal music will be available soon! Following on from the short Gregorian chant course at the end of August, this longer adult evening course (running over the full academic year, 2026-7) will include solfege alongside medieval and Renaissance music notation, with solfa being used as a tool for deciphering the older vocal notation forms. Taught by Dr Rhoda Dullea, CSM Department of Musicianship and Academic Studies, and open to all, with no previous knowledge of solfa required! Email [email protected] for more information.

This end-of-summer course will be running again at the end of August with three 2-hour workshops over three evenings (Wednesday to Friday 6-8pm), as a taster course for choral singers and anyone interested in exploring and singing Gregorian chant, with Dr Rhoda Dullea, lecturer in the Department of Musicianship and Academic Studies at Cork School of Music, and director of Gregorian Schola Cork.

We are singing a plainchant Vespers at 5 until 5:30pm on Friday 1 May in Saints Peter and Paul’s Church, Cork, with a rehearsal in the church at 4pm beforehand - this is open to anyone who would like to try singing Gregorian chant with us, please come along!
