Art psychotherapy is a highly specialized form of therapy, with elements of fun, and play that adds a powerful conduit, medium and language for young people to work through thoughts, emotions and feelings.
There is absolutely no need to be good at art or drawing.
These sessions are a mixture of creative and talk therapy facilitated by Senior art psychotherapist who holds a master's degree and is a first-class honours recipient from the MTU. (2019). A professional registered accredited art psychotherapist is one who has trained to a master's degree level (level 9) that integrates the theory and practice of psychology, psychotherapy, and psychiatry as a therapeutic intervention through the lens of creativity.
