One of the most fascinating pieces in our programme this year is Hymn of Acxiom by Vienna Teng.

At first, it sounds comforting. Warm. Almost reassuring.

But look a little closer and you realise the voice speaking to you isn't human at all.

Written from the perspective of a vast data company, the piece explores surveillance, technology, artificial intelligence and our increasingly complicated relationship with the digital world. It's beautiful, unsettling, haunting—and one of our favourite pieces to sing.

This choral arrangement creates moments that feel almost mechanical before opening into rich, soaring harmonies that are incredibly satisfying to perform.

This one is definitely a bit of a Marmite piece in the choir 😄

Some of us absolutely love this unusual arrangement of Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell… and some of us are still making up our minds.

But whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that it’s completely different—and incredibly beautiful in places.

We’ll be performing this stunning arrangement by Tim Brent as part of our Midsummer Concert this June, alongside music by Eric Whitacre, Elaine Hagenberg, The Cranberries, Radiohead, Christopher Tin and more.

🎨🎶 A wonderful afternoon singing at the Royal Hibernian Academy yesterday for Varnishing Day, the launch of the 196th RHA Annual Exhibition.

It was a real privilege to perform surrounded by so much creativity and beautiful artwork, and to share a small preview of some of the music from our upcoming concert repertoire.

From atmospheric choral works to reimagined modern classics, we loved bringing a little music into such a special space ✨

A huge thank you to the Royal Hibernian Academy for having us—we thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a fantastic event.

Now our focus turns fully towards June 21st 👀

🎨🎶 Music meets art tomorrow at the Royal Hibernian Academy.

We’re delighted to be performing at the launch day (“Varnishing Day”) of the 196th RHA Annual Exhibition, Ireland’s largest and longest-running open submission exhibition ✨

As part of the celebrations, Aurora will give two short performances at: 🕑 2:15pm
🕒 3:15pm

We’ll be sharing a small preview of some of the music from our upcoming concert programme ahead of our full concert on June 21st at the Pavilion Theatre.

There’s something very special about bringing music into spaces filled with creativity, imagination and storytelling—and we can’t wait to sing surrounded by such incredible artwork.

If you’re visiting the exhibition tomorrow, we’d love to see you there 💛
