All set here for a busy festival weekend! 🎉

There won’t be a picnic in sight but there will be a wonderful Gala Dinner among a ton of other treats that lie ahead, as part of the second annual Lovely Laois Homecoming Festival, taking place all over Laois next weekend- 4th - 6th SEPTEMBER 2026. 🎉

In Abbeyleix,as part of the fun events, we will host our monthly Open Mic in Mooney’s on Friday, 4th September from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

On Saturday then, 5th September, Preston House will be the place to be for a day of writing workshops with the fabulous Helen Moorhouse and Frances Harney, in addition to a wonderful afternoon concert by the one and only Charlie McGettigan!

What a beautiful time we had with ‘Turbary Writes’ at Artful Parks yesterday evening! Such an interesting location to explore and perform in. Thank you to everyone who came to share their poetry, stories, songs and tunes and to everyone who came to be a part of this special evening.

It was a pleasure to be a part of this precious event. Thank you Brian Gorman and John Whelan for the collaboration.
