"The Quiet Land" by Malachy McKenna with Des Keogh and Derry Power

Pat Talbot Productions in association with Bewleys Cafe Theatre

Two elderly farmers, Eamon and Nashee, meet at a gate on a remote hillside. These men are old friends, old rivals, old neighbours. They are men of heart, of humour. But they are forced to confront each other with some heartbreaking truths that test their friendship to its limit. After today, will they ever again talk on this hillside? The Quiet Land is a celebration of the humour, resilience and endearing innocence of an exiled generation as it struggles to survive in the isolated rural Ireland of today. It is Malachy McKenna’s heartfelt tribute to a rare breed of forgotten men who live a long way in off the road.

Winner of The PJ O’Connor Award 2014.

Starring Des Keogh & Derry Power Directed by Bairbre Ni Chaoimh

Set design by Andy Murray

Sneem Dramsoc Present: "Faith Healer" by Brian Friel
Two Shows - Friday 18th & Saturday 19th November 2016 - 8pm
Faith Healer is a play by Brian Friel about the life of the faith healer Francis Hardy as monologued through the shifting memories of Hardy, his wife, Grace, and stage manager, Teddy.
FAITH HEALER is a play primarily about faith although, like other Friel plays, it also deals with the relativity of truth. Faith here may be religious or secular, a faith in the power of human love transcending human weakness, or the ebbing and flowing faith of the artist in his creative powers.

HAVE A HEART
Have A Heart is a 70 minute, one-man tour-de-force written and performed by Seamus Moran and directed by Liam Halligan.
A man who’s recently had a heart transplant thinks that his new heart is talking to him. Is he going insane, suffering side-effects from the medication or is it possible? Could this really be happening? When his new heart persuades him to embark on a major quest, his life and his world are turned upside down and inside out. He is soon operating well outside his comfort zone where his beliefs, assumptions and view of himself are called into question, tested and challenged.
