Christmas is coming and if you're looking for a cheap ,and cheerful Christmas present, look no further than Killererin Heritage Society's calendar 2025. It's easy to post to friends and family abroad and will put a smile on your face throughout the year. It's also a treasure to have in your own home to remind us of how proud we should be of the place where we live and come from.
Here is just a flavour of some of the photos -

Friday 23rd August when we welcomed Diane McCue and her friend Linda from New South Wales, Australia and also Genealogist Martin Curley, from Skehana to celebrate Heritage week was a very special day for us.
Diane is a direct descendant of the McHughs who left this parish in the 1840s and has done extensive research on other families in the parish to whom she is connected.

Martin engaged the audience with his knowledge of genealogy and with his tips and tricks for getting started on your family tree. He is always a joy to listen to and he didn't disappoint.

Below is a flavour of the wonderful night we enjoyed with the lovely people who turned up to support our event.

Great day yesterday with Galway Co Council Heritage office, Skehanagh, Oughterard, Moycullen and many other Heritage groups as well as like minded individuals with Guide Michael Gibbons on a tour to Connemara.
It was a super tour starting with the forged gates exhibition in Oughterard which was brilliant. We picked up our guide Michael in Recess and he brought all the sights to life for us.
We had a pit stop in Ballynahinch castle for tea/coffee etc and a great tour of the gardens and walking trails and then on to beautiful Roundstone. Had a beautiful lunch in Keogh’s in Ballyconneely and on to Clifden. Thanks to Galway Heritage for a wonderful day.

Heritage tour Saturday 13th July. Dont' forget to book your place. We will be travelling to Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum in Co. Limerick on 13th July next. As well as its aviation history, many Hollywood icons and influential figures passed through Foynes before transatlantic flights became the norm. Foynes is also the birthplace of Irish Coffee, so there really is something for everyone on this tour.
After lunch there, we will be heading back to Limerick city to explore King John’s castle . Using 21st century technology, 3D models etc, travel back in time to an era of soldiers, sagas, and sieges on the banks of the Shannon. Dinner on our return, in Red Gap.
You won’t want to miss this tour and places are limited. To book your place, a €20 non-refundable deposit must be given to Eileen O’Connell, Dangan 087 6320183; Bernadette Forde, Togher 087 7918889; or Mary Moran Togher 087 2698161.
