As one festival comes to an end, another two are just getting started ✨

We want to wish our neighbours in Clonmany Festival & Greencastle Regatta Festival the very best of luck for the week ahead 🫶🏼

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that festivals are made by people. The volunteers, the organisers, the local businesses, the musicians, and every single person who comes along to support them all create the atmosphere that makes these events so special 🤩

So if you’re looking for something to do this week, get out, support local and enjoy everything these fantastic festivals have to offer 👏🏼

Best of luck to everyone involved, we hope you have an amazing week 🌤️☀️

Before we sign off on Moville Festival 2026, there’s one final thank you that simply has to be said ✨

The Moville Festival Committee is made up entirely of volunteers who give up countless evenings, weekends and months of their own time to bring the festival to life. From our very first meeting right through to the final pack-up, every member played their part 🙌🏼

At those first meetings, ideas were flying around the room. Some seemed ambitious, some sounded a little crazy, but together we believed in them. Through teamwork, commitment and plenty of hard work, those ideas became reality 👏🏼

Throughout the week, we received so many lovely comments, but one in particular has stayed with us. A member of the public said to one of our committee members…

“𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽.”

That simple sentence reminded us exactly why we do this. It’s not just about putting on events, it’s about creating memories, bringing generations together and giving today’s children the same magic so many of us were lucky enough to experience 🫶🏼

Seeing the streets buzzing, hearing the music, watching families make memories and reading all of your wonderful feedback has made everything worthwhile. We have loved reading your comments and messages over the past few weeks, and knowing how much the festival meant to so many people has been the greatest reward of all ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally, to our committee, thank you. Thank you for your dedication, your ideas, your encouragement, your teamwork and for giving your time so generously to make Moville Festival 2026 such a success. We couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together 🌼

Thank you all so much.

Thank you also to the Moville Family Resource Centre for their printing and photocopying, Moville Tidy Towns for helping keep our town looking its best throughout the busy festival week, the Moville Men’s Shed for lending us their fantastic Moville sign, the Inishowen Vintage Show for the benches, Inishowen Co-op for the use of equipment for our Street Frolics, Donegal County Council and Moneydarragh Construction for providing fencing, Seamus and Eddie Harkin for storage, St. Eugene’s Hall for the use of their facilities, tables and chairs and Paddy Hegarty for kindly lending us a speaker; and Michael McNaught for giving us the phrase that perfectly summed up the week - “The boom is back.”

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helped make Moville Festival 2026 the success it was 🤩

From all of us on the committee, thank you for being part of it 💙🩵

A huge thank you to MCA Designs for their incredible generosity, professionalism and hard work in creating the brand new Moville Festival website ✨

From online registrations and payment systems to event information and everything in between, the website has become such an important part of making this year’s festival run as smoothly as it did 👏🏼

Not only did MCA Designs design and build the entire website, but they also very generously sponsored the project. It was an incredibly kind gesture and one that has given the festival a fantastic platform for years to come 🙌🏼

As a committee, we truly appreciate the time, expertise and support that went into creating something so professional and user friendly. We’ll now continue to build on it and keep it updated for future festivals 🌐

Thank you again, MCA Designs for believing in Moville Festival and helping us take another huge step forward. We couldn’t be more grateful 💙🩵

There are sponsors and then there are people who truly believe in a community ✨

Today, we want to say a very special and heartfelt thank you to Oran McGonagle 👏🏼

From the very beginning, Oran believed in the vision of bringing the Moville Festival back. His encouragement, belief in the committee and unwavering support gave us the confidence to dream big and create something the whole town could be proud of 💫

Although he has built a successful life and businesses abroad, including McGonagle’s Pub and Emmets Irish Pub in Boston, one thing has never changed, his love for his hometown 🌊🐚

The success of this year’s festival was only possible because so many people came together, but Oran’s belief in what we were trying to achieve helped inspire us every step of the way. His generosity, kindness, enthusiasm and commitment to his hometown have helped create memories that will stay with our community for years to come 🙌🏼

On behalf of the entire Moville Festival Committee and the wider community, thank you for believing in us, for believing in Moville and for helping us bring the festival back bigger and better than ever 💙🩵

Thank you, Oran, for helping us bring the boom back 🥰

P.S. He’s going to hate us for posting this but thankfully he’s probably somewhere over the Atlantic on his way back to Boston by now, so we’ll take our chances 🤣

Safe travels, Oran and thank you again for everything 🤍

A huge thank you to the residents of Moville Square, Quay Street and Montgomery Terrace for your patience, understanding and support throughout Moville Festival 👏🏼

Hosting a festival in the heart of our town inevitably brings a little extra noise and activity, and we truly appreciate the kindness and encouragement shown by our neighbours over festival week ✨

Seeing the streets full of people, local businesses bustling, families making memories and our community coming together is what Moville Festival is all about. Your support helps make that possible, and we are incredibly grateful for allowing us to bring such a vibrant atmosphere to the town 🙌🏼

Thank you for being such an important part of the festival. We hope the buzz, laughter and sense of community made it all worthwhile, and we can’t wait to do it all again 💙🩵
