🎨 Children’s Art Classes – Back This Tuesday!

Art classes are starting back this Tuesday, 13th January, at Kiltallagh National School, Castlemaine, and I now have space to welcome a few more children for the new term, with two time slots available 🤗

The classes are relaxed, creative, and great fun. We’ll be exploring painting, drawing, mixed media, colour, and texture, while building confidence and creativity in a friendly, supportive space.

Class times:
🖌️ Junior Infants to 2nd Class: 6:00 to 7:00 PM
🖌️ 3rd to 6th Class: 7:00 to 8:00 PM

📅 Running until 10th March
💶 €15 per class (term price €135)
👫 Sibling discount available
🎨 All materials included

Payment can be made in full or with the option of two instalments, by Revolut or cash.

Our young artists explored winter skies and forest scenes this evening.

🎨✨ Cathy’s Summer Art Camp – 3 Days of Creativity! ✨🎨

I’m delighted to be running a 3 day Summer Art Camp this July, full of colour, fun, and hands-on creativity for primary school-aged children! 🖌️🌈

🗓️ 14–16 July (Monday to Wednesday)
⏰ 10am – 1pm daily
📍 Kiltallagh N.S., Castlemaine, Co. Kerry
💶 €90 per child – all materials included

Each day, we’ll explore art and creative projects, have fun, and enjoy a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. 🎨💛

I’m grateful to be showing this work as part of KAN!, alongside a group of artists I deeply admire. The exhibition opens tonight 6:30pm at the Department of Arts, Heritage & Culture in Killarney, and runs from 28 March. All invited!

First Notes’ is my second piece in KAN! Kerry Art Now, opening this evening in Killarney.

Painted alla prima, in oils, on a piece of old slate from my cottage roof. A bell with an owl and a harmonica. Each with its own quiet presence. Each holding its own story.

‘The Last Drop’ - one of my pieces in the ‘KAN! Kerry Art Now’ exhibition. Painted alla prima on reclaimed slate from my cottage studio roof. Found objects like these (often dug up in the cottage garden) carry stories, and I love exploring their presence through paint. If you’re in Killarney, the exhibition is open to visit at the Department of Arts, Heritage & Culture from 28March 2025.

Our young artists kicked off the first session of the final term this year with some amazing character designs!

They explored different face shapes, expressions, and styles, filling their sketchbooks with unique characters, showcasing quirky expressions and colourful personalities. Each piece is full of creativity and individuality.
