County Donegal

Driving through the Irish countryside, I took this photograph from a moving car. It reminded me of Milton Avery, the land simplified into quiet layers of green, brown, ochre and the muted gold of hay. Fields, trees, hills and sky, each holding its own colour. Ireland sometimes feels less like a landscape and more like a painting waiting to be noticed.

Clifden | Connemara | County Galway

I’ll reveal a little secret. I seem to have a strange power of attracting animals, rather like Doctor Dolittle.

This little lamb wandered close to me. He looks rather grand in the photograph, but in truth, he was small and impossibly fluffy, like a cloud that had fallen from the Irish sky.

I began to wonder what we might talk about. What would he ask me? And what wisdom could I possibly offer, being the older of the two?

So I told him about autumn.

The days will shorten, the rain will grow colder, the winds stronger, and eventually winter will settle over the fields. Ireland can be cruel then, but stay clos e to your flock, I told him. There is warmth in belonging.

And perhaps that is enough wisdom for both lambs and humans. When the seasons change, find your flock, keep close to warmth, and trust that somewhere beyond winter, spring is already waiting.

Connemara | County Galway

At this stage of life, I find myself wanting to travel more slowly.

To walk a quiet path through Connemara, to notice the mountain, the bog, the changing sky, and allow the land to settle something within me.

I have always had itchy feet. Travel has given me wonder, restlessness, joy, and an extraordinary habit of falling in love with places.

Perhaps this is what my life was made for: to wander, to notice, and to keep being surprised by beauty.

I still dream of seeing the world. But I also dream of knowing Ireland completely, in every season, every light, every weather.

There is still so much of the earth left to love. ☘️❤️

Killiney & Bray

From the hilltop, a veil of mist rises over Killiney and Bray, turning the familiar coastline into something almost cinematic. And I couldn’t help but wonder, does a little mystery make a beautiful.❤️☘️

Duncannon Beach | County Wexford

Travel and be happy.
Walk a little farther, dance when nobody’s watching, and dream beneath the wide Duncannon sky.

Because perhaps happiness was never somewhere we were meant to arrive. Maybe it was simply something we were meant to notice along the way. 🌊✨

County Donegal

Somewhere in remote Donegal, a restless self found stillness. The beauty was so wild and consuming that we forgot exactly where we were.

And perhaps it didn’t matter.

Somewhere in Donegal was enough. 🍀

Kilcar | County Donegal

Knitting the Nation

Tucked beneath the mountains of Donegal lies Kilcar, a tiny village shaped by wind, rain and wool.

For generations, sheep grazed these rugged hills, their fleece becoming the yarn and tweed for which Donegal is famous. Here, landscape and livelihood have always been woven together.

Terenure | Dublin

Iconic, theatrical building in about Terenure after dark. Its Victorian and Edwardian buildings, illuminated against the night, reveal an older Dublin hiding in plain sight. Brick, stone and ornament suddenly become storytellers, reminding us that architecture, too,

Cloghleagh | County Wicklow

A beautiful winding road after the rain, where you can almost smell the petrichor rising from the earth. Around the bend, through all those rain-washed Irish greens, St. John’s Church of Ireland slowly reveals itself, as though the road had been saving its best secret for last.
