Pure Thinking Community Group The Pure Thinking Community group assists carlow artists to display their work on our streetscapes How did Pure Thinking come to reality?

The aim of the group is to develop cultural, educational and emotional awareness. The group promotes team building, integration, creativity and all artistic forms. Our projects will always be exhibited to allow the community to admire or indeed join our free thinking forum and to assist the on- going development of "pure thinking". In 2008, Carlow Hairdresser, Connie Byrne Hyland, and her design t

eam, decided to undertake a team building exercise that would develop their artistic skills, promote personal growth and engage the local community. The resulting project, THE COLONY, described below, was a huge success and thus PURE THINKING COMMUNITY GROUP was formed. The realisation that there was a enormous hunger for this form of cultural engagement, artistic expression and community integration at a grassroots level, led the group, with the aid of more and more local contributors, to produce two more, increasingly ambitious, projects and to finally incorporate in 2010. The group celebrated the end of the beginning by presenting MIXED COLONY OF BEAUTY Exhibition to a full house at VISUAL: Centre for Contemporary Art and George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. The exhibition was the culmination of the groups work over the previous three years and portrayed the ever-changing face of the community
