; Derrynaflan Walking Event Artist Announcement - Jim Ryan

Jim Ryan has a wealth of traditional songs, local folklore, and stories, and enjoys playing airs and dance music on the fiddle . He is the central feature of the Thursday night sessions at his world renowned family run pub, Jim of the Mills, where his warm hospitality and ‘céad míle fáilte’ are palpable, as he and his family share their culture with all who come. Jim is delighted to be a part of in Derrynaflan where hew will share from his vast repertoire of songs and stories.

Derrynaflan Walking Event Artist Announcement - AndySpearpoint and Leisa Gray

For Andy Spearpoint and Leisa Gray have created a semi improvised piece of music based on Tim Eriksen's song 'Every Day is Three'. Andy is a musician and will be attempting to juggle ipad instruments, samples, gongs, an electric guitar, possibly a saxophone and a croaky voice while Leisa will be adding much needed class with her singing!

; Derrynaflan Walking Event Artist Announcement -Tim Davis

Tim Davis was born in South Wales, a life-long interest in art was combined with a varied career primarily in social care. In 1993 he moved to West Cork where he developed his skills in boatbuilding, gardening and visual art. In 2008 he commenced formal study, graduating in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Visual Art specialising in site specific art that responded to community and context. Now settled in the hills of North Tipperary, Tim combines music drama, spoken word, sculpture, drawing and painting in his works that engage audiences to consider anew some aspects of contemporary rural life.

A Unique Walking Event Celebrating Music, Print, Storytelling and Exploring Tipperary

Horse and Jockey to Derrynaflan Island, Friday 17th September 2021, 5pm - 9pm

On Friday, the 17th of September, “Found Links”, a unique fun project, suitable for all age groups, will take place at Derrynaflan, from 5pm to 9pm; bringing together traditions in music, print, storytelling and the joys of walking and exploring our own beautiful Tipperary landscapes.

Come along at any stage to this free pop-up event or join one of our guided walks to Derrynaflan, leaving from the Horse and Jockey between 5pm and 6pm. Everyone is welcome! There will be music, poetry and a pop-up printmaking station along the way for you to hand-print your own postcard or souvenir. Join us for this exciting event; listen to music, try your hand at printmaking or simply enjoy the unique landscape of Derrynaflan. Walking time between 2.5 - 3 hours.
