“Engolir sapo”

I’ve been exploring my experience of motherhood, the feminine and personal mythologies and I decided that whatever comes out… well it must make some sort of noise.

Because obviously silence is extremely scarce.

I’ll keep using this found clay and working solely with materials tied to place.

It’s wool and clay, baby.

Welcome back to the 5k radius.

Sem dúvida.

Clay harvesting.
Getting ready for a hand-building workshop I’ll be teaching this June .

Still trying to piece together a rhythm.
How to work, make, function while draped in motherhood. Most days I’m thrashing—somewhere between joy and an uncomfortable, uncertain madness.

She’s in her feral stage, and most days it suits us just fine.

The moments in-between construction and demolition, build with it a space were time escapes the structured titles of beginning, middle, or end. It’s new narrative navigates freely, corroding into a permanence known as memory.

This short video shown is a time-lapse of the removal of my 2022 installation entitled, Threads Spaced to Five, as part of the exhibition, t i e d, at the Burren College of Art Gallery. The work is made-up of over 150 dryer-sheets, thread, and timber beams.

This piece is still “Under Construction”.
