Different day, different rice field walk in Sidemen. This one is ‘a secret one’ we just happened upon it. Sidemen is a beautiful spot in central Bali. Not too much tourism yet.

We booked a cute homestay in Sidemen so that we could walk and eat somewhere different! The Sidemen Rice Field Circuit is a one-hour trek through beautiful scenery in a stunning valley. We passed on the young coconut drinks in favour of Mango Cocktails as a post-trek refreshment 😍

This is Pak Wayan Suana. He offers healing massages on the beach in Sanur. I have a dodgy sacrum and every so often it flares up and gives me chronic pain. I’ve had Touch for Health therapy over the years and it works a treat. Pak Suana spent time in Kew, Victoria, where he learned various therapies and healing techniques. A weird success-indicator for me is that a lump at the base of my spine flattens immediately after a treatment. It happened after Pak Suana’s first treatment. I had two treatments over two days. Now I’m floating around Sanur pain free. So I thought I’d share in case you have back pain and happen to be coming to Bali 😍

We have been gathering a repertoire of walks (of course) in Karangasem, focusing on paved paths through rice fields. They are used by rice farmers, vegetable producers and marigold sellers. So different from the hectic pace in Seminyak. Each time we walk through a new path we seem to happen upon a surprising sight. Today was a confluence of two small waterfalls in a spot called Sapta Gangga where we saw locals enjoying swimming in a small pool.
