'The rising waters of the Indo-Pacific Oceans and the continuous displacement of marginal communities is the impetus for Enfold – a poetic contemplation on water and our relationship to it.'
This ritual performance installation explores themes of relocation, shelter and shorelines from the talented team of Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal, Ria Soemardjo and Paula van Beek - also known as the Opal Vapour Artists. Audiences are gently invited into an intimate, direct encounter with objects, movement and live sound. Enfold invokes an ancient way of seeing where the inner realms of the human body have deep inter-connections with the macro-cosmic forms of our universe. Rhythmic transformations evoke remote dry lands empty of ice and vast oceans expanding. Tuning into the breath force in the other and all things, the journey moves with the moon’s gravitational pull.
