As you proceed down the staircase, the villa unfolds like a delicious secret. The dining Pavilion is the first taste of the architectural and spiritual feast that awaits. It features a high thatched ceiling, a large round teak table (which seats up to 14) with stunning views

over the river and pool below. An adjoining fully-equipped European-style kitchen caters for your every need and includes a comprehensive East meets West menu. The expansive air-conditioned king bedrooms are accessed via romantic pathways leading from the dining pavilion. The fifth and private king bedroom is at level above the dining pavilion with its own plunge pool, private massage bale and garden.

Our stay with a group of 9 friends in Kembali on the River was just amazing - to put it in simple words: If you have the chance to get there, don't hestiate to do so! The villa is just fabulous, the staff is extremely nice and helpful, the service is perfect, the communication was easy and the amazing staff realises everything that you need or want: Starting from a simple tour around Bali visiting its most attractive places up to buying original Balinese furnitere and organizing the shipping around the world for you. And the pictures can't capture the estate's, it looks much more nicer if you are there. There are so many details that make the place great, I can't even list them here. You get more than you expect for the money - just great! We can highly recommend Kembali. Have great time!

"Kembali on the River is incredibly relaxing, beautiful, comfortable, elegant and gracious. I can immediately recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants a genuine “get away from it all” holiday. Our group covered a broad demographic – my parents who are in their late-70s, my pregnant sister and brother-in-law, my 2 year old son and me, (young, travel-bugged and likes a drink and a social gathering). Each one of us loved the villa, and found that there was appropriate accommodation for each of us. My sister and BIL shared the honeymoon suite for their babymoon, my parents had the villa on the main level to minimize their stair usage, and my son and I shared the connecting villas at the back of the property. My parents had intended to stay in separate villas just for the space and comfort, but found the suites so large we ended up having a spare unit. I was concerned about the steps and lack of handrails for the oldies and my son, but they just weren’t an issue. Dad had to take it pretty easy going up the main stairs to the car for road trips, but other than that, everyone hit it in their stride and the 2yo cottoned-on pretty quick, handling them with confidence. There is no railing overlooking the river, but I just kept an eye on him – no problems at all. Putu and the team are genuinely kind and helpful. We used the car service to go to Ubud and Echo Beach, but generally found ourselves spending all day just hanging around the property, swimming, eating, napping, and cocktailing. I can’t remember the last time we all just relaxed like that, and Kembali invites and allows you to do it. We stuck to the Asian-style dishes on the lunch and dinner menus, and the food is expertly cooked. Breakfast was faultless every day, and they catered beautifully for my son, by minimizing portions, and leaving out sugar. Nothing was too much trouble. We have already decided that our next Bali trip will be based out of the Kembali. Only heads up is the noise of the chickens and dogs from the village – they didn’t bother my parents, me or my son – we slept like babies! But my sister and BIL in the villa closest to the village ended up using ear plugs. One final note – the photos don’t do it justice. The reality of the villas and bathroom suites, dining area and downstairs entertainment/lounge area, landscaping and food are just breathtaking."

For seriously great coffee check out Sea Circus in Seminyak. It's been quoted as the best on the Island! A cool little restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu includes some amazing share plates including yummy beer battered fish and hand cut chips, a taco and quesadilla bar menu and delicious desserts such as hot churros with dark chocolate dipping sauce!

Bali Dream Cocktail: This cocktail should take you mentally back to the Bali.

Bali Dream recipe

20 ml Bacardi® white rum
20 ml Bacardi® black rum
20 ml creme de bananes
20 ml Passoa® liqueur
10 ml coconut liqueur
10 ml grenadine syrup
200 ml orange juice

Put all ingredients in shaker together with some ice-cubes. Shake well. Serve with piece of banana on top of the glass.
