"Property of No One" reflects on the perception of woman in this modern society. Woman in Indonesia were widely known as “wanita”, which is a concise derivation of “wani ditoto”. Mahaputra Vito see this as an interesting concept that can be confronted with today’s values: that a woman is a property of no one, and that they are able to stand for themselves, defining the word woman as “per-empu-an” rather than “wanita”. “Property of No One” challenges the society to deflect from the general stereotype of ownership towards women
