For many fans, Takeru Satoh will always be Himura Kenshin, the legendary swordsman from the Rurouni Kenshin live-action films. But his career goes far beyond sword fights and anime adaptations.

From Bakuman, where he plays an aspiring manga artist, to Ajin: Demi-Human and Inuyashiki, Satoh has explored different kinds of characters and stories. He can lead an action-packed blockbuster, but he can also step into quieter, more emotional films.

One of my favorites is The 8-Year Engagement, a moving story about a man who stays by his fiancée after she falls seriously ill and loses her memories. It shows a very different side of Satoh, proving that his appeal isn't limited to action roles.

And that's what makes his filmography interesting. Not every movie will be a winner, but he's ventured into romance, comedy, fantasy, action, and drama, with each genre offering something different.

For me, Takeru Satoh is much more than just Kenshin. He's an actor worth exploring beyond the role that made him famous.

Imagine losing your life savings to a corrupt lawyer and a bank manager, only to discover that your money is hidden away in a heavily secured underground vault.

That’s where Heroic Losers begins. A group of ordinary people who had their dreams stolen decides to fight back, putting together a plan to take their money back.

Ricardo Darín leads the film with a performance that feels natural and effortlessly charismatic. He’s one of Argentina’s most recognizable actors, and you can see why. The supporting cast is just as enjoyable, giving this unlikely crew plenty of personality.

What I like most is how the film turns a frustrating story about corruption and ordinary people being exploited into an entertaining heist with humor, tension, and a satisfying underdog spirit. The cinematography keeps things grounded, while the heist itself gives the story a fun change of pace.

Sometimes, the best revenge is making the people who scammed you regret ever underestimating you.

SAVIOUR OF THE SOUL (1991) — WHEN HONG KONG ACTION MOVIES GOT WEIRD, IN THE BEST WAY

This isn't your typical Hong Kong action movie. Saviour of the Soul mixes futuristic fantasy, romance, comedy and wild action into one colourful, comic-book-like adventure.

Andy Lau plays Ching, a cool but occasionally goofy fighter caught between love and danger. Anita Mui is elegant and tough as May-kwan, a formidable fighter who brings both style and strength to the screen. She also plays her very different twin sister, showing another side of her performance.

Then there's Aaron Kwok as Silver Fox, a dangerous assassin seeking revenge. His unusual look and menacing presence make him a memorable contrast to Andy's more playful hero.

The story can get pretty wild, but that's part of the charm. It's imaginative, stylish and entertaining — a reminder of how boldly Hong Kong cinema could mix genres back then.

Eric Tsang shared the screen with Sammo Hung, Richard Ng, Stanley Fung and other familiar faces in Hong Kong cinema. Together, they brought plenty of laughs, with Eric often playing the funny guy who became the target of everyone's jokes.

But he had another side. In Infernal Affairs (2002), he played Hon Sam, a powerful triad boss — a much more intimidating presence than the comic character many fans remembered.

Julia Stiles is getting emotional ahead of her Heath Ledger tribute on Dancing With the Stars.

She and pro partner Ezra Sosa will dance to Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" on Dedication Night, the same song Ledger's character sang to her in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999).

Stiles said she thought enough years had passed to keep some distance. But seeing the old clips and hearing their voices again brought the memories back.

Dedication Night airs October 20 on ABC.

When IT hit theaters in Germany, it arrived right after a bizarre controversy in Russia over a complaint linking Ronald McDonald to Pennywise.
Burger King Deutschland saw an opening and took it.
As the credits rolled, a surprise message appeared on screen: "The moral is: Never trust a clown." Right beside it sat the Burger King logo.
The audience was left bewildered, and amused. Some joked that the film had just become the longest Burger King ad ever.

Pennywise scared the audience. Burger King stole the ending. 🍔🤡

At the end of IT in German cinemas, Burger King Deutschland dropped one last message: "The moral is: Never trust a clown." Brutal. Genius. And aimed squarely at McDonald's.
