"The women have moved on, but your kids still need to heal... Start with your kids."
It was a roadmap to redemption handed to Kody on a silver platter. But instead of taking the lead, Kody pivoted to his favorite defense mechanism: The Boundary.
Why Kody Flipped the Script
Rather than acknowledging the pain of his children—some of whom he hasn't spoken to in years—Kody doubled down on his defensiveness. He snapped back, claiming his only purpose was to apologize to Christine and that he was "setting a boundary" with David and his own children.
The irony was thick:
Kody’s Stance: View an apology as a transaction to clear his own name.
David’s Stance: View an apology as the beginning of a long process to heal the children.
By refusing to listen to the man who is currently filling the "dad role" in his children's lives, Kody effectively proved that his priority isn't family restoration—it's ego preservation."

Kody Trying to Replicate what he has w/Robyn w/Janelle
Season 18
This was a very long scene at the start of S18, but the long and short of it is, Kody tried to save his relationship with Janelle by pressuring her to change their 30 year marriage so that it was more like his marriage to Robyn.
I find this scene so interesting because Janelle and Kody have the same goal (to get their marriage back on track), but they're worlds away in how that should be done.
Since Kody sees his relationship with Robyn to be successful and he wants his relationship with Janelle to be successful, from his insane perspective, that means Janelle needs to act like Robyn.
Janelle obviously disagrees that this is the solution and wants to maintain her independence, but she also wants to work with him on redefining their marriage.
This scene is so interesting to me. I know Janelle is seen as the "easy" wife who Kody didn't have to do much for because she was independent. But he clearly wanted her to be more dependent on him in some ways.

S18 ep 9 t/w Garrison
Just a little reminder of some of the behavior from Kody and Robyn that may help answer the question of what he has possibly done wrong, Robyn being a brat about the gift exchange and claiming everyone left her out when she made herself the victim, pouted and told Mykelti to tell everyone trying she’s not talking to them anymore. Kody calling his his kids jerks — just the usual stuff.
