The thing about is he’s a real ass friend. Like just a good friend to his friends type friend. A tell. the. truth. type friend. A self aware and aware of YOU type friend. OK? An entertainer through and THROUGH, camera or NONE; type friend, right? Cause he ain’t never had no sense frfr😩😆 and it’s always made the world a lil brighter.
THATS why when he calls; I go, whether it be to sit on a couch, smoke and zone out or write a song.
Shoutout to his team too cause good business in this business can be tricky business. 😮‍💨

In 2010 I got to shoot a video w/ a new pal who let me pretend to be an actress next to his legend.
He was already our brother in all our heads but became one in real life for me when I moved to LA.
Malc shared and gave and supported and checked in and stayed connected. The type to root you on but only tolerate your highest vibration.
He demonstrated that true brotherhood does not break easily, is not situational and does not disappear when it matters most. He encouraged my staying on the journey each time things fell apart.
Reading so many thoughts of you. Of course you embodied that role for the world around you in real life. Of course.
I want to say and share so much about the you that I knew..about how proud you were to be a good son, husband, dad, and brother…about how much you absolutely loved the music, culture and our community…your insatiable thirst for knowledge and your awe at how life was turning out…
…your beautiful soulmate, the love of your dreams and everybody else’s let you tell it 🤌🏾…your babygirl, family & friends. I can’t even imagine the weight of all this for them.
I don’t know how God decided now was the time to take you home.
Imagine trying not to be mad at God.
You left so many gems behind. Thank you for being such an exemplary human being. It’ll take some time to get used to your absence but you’re going to crush it as an ancestor. ✊🏾🙌🏾

I love writing songs & sync has become my sweet spot.
Learning that there are organizations and top music execs focused on the health and well being of creatives has been exciting because I believe mental health, money & wholistic wealth are interwoven.
Lookin forward to sharing the stage w/ these amazing humans to discuss what it looks like to swim good in Sync & enjoy the journey along the way.

story time:

Bigger Than You was the first song I ever wrote & recorded w/ for the self titled debut album “Choklate” circa 2006.

I remember pen and paper & lyrics that were coming so fast it was hard to keep up…it was one of those 10 mins writing and “ok I’m ready” moments in the studio. I’ve always said “God wrote that song.”

Little did we know presented it to and nearly 20 years later we have feat. Choklate in celebration of the ‘s (Circa 2004) 20 Yr Anniversary.

I can imagine absolutely smiling down in this moment & Im beyond honored to play a small part in the celebration of such a legendary crew and album.
