The Ante Collective

The Ante Collective Founded in Hong Kong in 2016, The Ante Collective is platform bringing together artists from all corners of the world.

By developing an international network of curators, artists, and followers, we hope to spread the idea that art is crucial in teaching tolerance in today's globalized age. It can transcend language and cultural barriers, but it also captures the unique ethos of different places. Our curators are based in Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, and Sydney but are boundlessly trawling for essential works to s

ink their teeth into. In highlighting overlooked geopolitical narratives, The Ante Collective collects and preserves the stories of time and place imbued in these works.

This could be because he is part of a younger generation of artists who were born after the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), unscathed by old, extreme party ideologies from the “10 years of waste”. Huang’s independence from these trends in the Contemporary Chinese art market gives his work a sense of purity, protected from the all-too-commercialized contemporary art market today."

“Tom Kusturin’s physical being is imbued into his works through the gluing and ripping apart of raw and painted canvases, to create ghost-like pigment transferals. This direct interaction with the piece creates dream-like abstractions that redefine the act of painting and how the viewer perceives it. ” -Isabella Key on Tom Kusturin

All the while, he himself is a prototype of the intermingling of Western and local cultures. Artha is a recognized surf photographer who is often sought out by brands such as Insight for commercial photoshoots. However, his personal collection of photographs offer a more intimate window into the local communities. Artha's photographs represent his efforts to document and preserve old Bali, as he knew it growing up.
