In the June selection of A Year Measured in Colors, sky blue takes center stage. It is the blue that shines above us in pure, endless clarity at the beginning of summer, then slowly merges with the blue of the rippling water on the horizon. This month, touches of sunshine yellow make the shades of blue glow even brighter. The sunlit accessories from Ferris Wheel Press, along with the cheerful accents of the Pen Loop and Marks pens, appear throughout the composition like streaks of sunlight dancing across the water’s surface. Surrounding them are pieces that evoke the colors of a summer sky: a canvas-bound journal, the delicate pastel hues of OHTO pens, the rich and airy blues of Herbin inks, and the fresh, light tones of the highlighters. June is the month of long days, afternoons by the water, and the slowly approaching freedom of summer. It is the time when the boundary between sky and sea begins to blur, when the light lingers a little longer, and we quietly find ourselves drifting into summer.

Ebben a hónapban a napsárga részletek még fényesebbé teszik az ég árnyalatait. The latest guest in our Earworm interview series is Balla Zoltán, better known as Galactic Jackson, one of the defining figures of Hungary’s underground electronic music scene. As a DJ, producer, founder of Ballacid Records, and passionate record collector, he has been shaping the scene for decades. Many associate his name with vinyl culture, as well as the discovery and preservation of rare italo and space disco records and acid gems. As a member of the legendary Wedding Acid Group and a participant in numerous domestic and international performances, he has become known for his distinctive musical vision. We spoke with him about the stories behind the records, his fascination with synthesizers, the cult classic recording “Massage – Pók a falon”, and the passion that continues to drive him in the world of music to this day.
