Not just parts. A system.

After weeks of redesign, testing, and refining the new components are finally coming together.

Every detail you see here exists for a reason:
stability, precision, repeatability.

This is the result of nearly 2 years of iteration solving problems you don’t have to.

Now entering Beta Print phase.

The next step:
⚙️ preparing the first Maker Kit

The first batch will be very limited (5–10 units)
→ built to test, refine, and improve with real users

If you’ve ever thought about building your own plotter…

this is where it starts.

Jean-Pierre Hébert is considered a pioneer in the field of digital art from the mid-1970s on. He has developed his personal computer code into a powerful tool that drives plotters and custom-built devices, pushing the artistic and technical boundaries and creating an original, extensive body of work. Long before modern computer displays allowed one to pre-visualize an idea, Jean-Pierre was imagining and creating amazingly complex pieces, existing only in his mind—and in his code. Hébert produces works on paper, including ink and pencil drawings, etchings and dry points from polymer and copper plates. He also creates sand, water and sound installations, and artist’s books.
The aim of his work remains an expression of quiet beauty and peaceful meditation.
Jean-Pierre Hébert co-founded the Algorists in 1995 with Roman Verostko. Since 2003, he has been artist-in-residence at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he has organized and curated several Algorist group shows. In 2012, he received the ACM Siggraph Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in Digital Art.

4 hours. Zero issues. ⚙️➡️

Today was the first real endurance test of the upgraded plotter and it passed perfectly.
Smooth motion, stable pen pressure, silent drivers… exactly what I hoped for after weeks of redesign.

After almost two months of mechanical and electronic upgrades, I can finally say:

The machine is stable. The system works.
Which means the next step can begin…

⚙️ Preparing a DIY kit for those who would like to rebuild this plotter themselves.

More details about the kit soon.

For now, I’m just enjoying watching 4 hours of clean lines appearing on paper. And I choose one of my ASCII art.

A tiny upgrade that makes a big difference.

I designed and printed these small support parts to stabilize the Y-axis aluminum arm of my pen plotter. The goal was simple: keep the arm perfectly aligned and maintain an equal distance across the entire drawing surface.

After mounting them and running a few tests, the result is exactly what I expected a more stable and precise movement across the full width of the machine.

This upgrade brings me one step closer to a more reliable and consistent drawing process.

One of my favorite tiny upgrades lately.

This small printed part supports the Y-axis aluminum arm, helping it stay perfectly stable while the plotter moves. The goal is simple: keep a consistent distance across the entire printing surface so the pen pressure stays uniform from edge to edge.

It’s a small component, but details like this make a huge difference in long, precise plots.

Sometimes the reliability of a machine doesn’t come from big changes it comes from tiny mechanical improvements like this.

Slowly turning the pen plotter into a more precise drawing instrument.

Mechanically ready.

Compact geometry.
Lowered center of gravity.
Ultra-smooth motion on V-slot bearing wheels.
Materials: Durapro ABS + Red spectrum PETG
Thread Insert: Copper thread inserts
Motor: Nema 17 22mm width - small version
Motherboard: Arduino uno + CNC Shield V3.0
Motor drivers: DRV8825+heatsink
Rods: 3mm hardened CnC
Bearing: 3mm Linera bearings

This redesign gives me precise pen height control and eliminates the PWM-related EMI issues completely.

Next step: wheel assembly + test board integration.
Let’s see how it performs in real motion.

Stay tuned. 📸⚙️

Lineworkart is taking a short winter pause ❄️
Orders continue as usual all pieces will be crafted after Jan 15.

Thank you for all the support this year.
Wishing everyone a beautiful, calm Christmas and a happy New Year ✨

When your machine decides to fu*** off for a whole day… 🤯

I spent 12 hours isolating the problem step by step, cable by cable, motor by motor and the grand finale?
The issue is hiding somewhere around the mainboard / CNC Shield.
(Applause for the plot twist 👏😂)

Not the day I planned… but honestly, this is part of the game when you build your own tools. Every failure teaches you the machine better than any manual ever will.

🔧 Tomorrow we go again.
Fresh coffee, new patience, same mission: get this beast back to life and finish the orders. 💪🖤

Stay tuned the comeback is always stronger than the breakdown. 🚀

✨ Turning lines into life.
One of my favourite artworks is finally stepping out of the paper and into the third dimension!

I’m experimenting with the CMYK PLA bundle to re-imagine my linework as a layered, sculptural form every filament adding depth, movement, and a new way to feel the piece.

Can’t wait to show you how a drawing becomes an object. ✨
