Manhattani premier- kortárs opera filmünk jövőre Budapesten is!
In the new opera Red Flag of the Future, we meet a woman who bravely calls for a general strike to protest unfairness. She encounters a nameless adversary who shares the same goal, but who does not share her ideals. The opera’s seven scenes alternate between her reality and her dreams. In the end, we are left to answer the question: How do we fight tyranny while preserving our humanity?
The original German Expressionist play, Masse-Mensch, was written by antifascist Ernst Toller while he was in prison, in the tumult after World War I. The new translation and opera adaptation features original puppets and an ensemble of singers, dancers, and puppeteers. For background and details, see www.imaginaryopera.com
