Britteny's Island Art

Britteny's Island Art promoting Island culture, preservation and expression through visual arts, in the most beautiful and traditional way..

I am inspired by everything, past and present, my work is a reflection of what I've lived along with those around me. life in itself is inspiring, taking each moment that moves you to a white canvas, and transferrering that inner feeling to the eyes of others, in itself is rewarding. My love for fashion and my culture has played a big roll in my work, bringing the two together, has been a journey

that I've loved very much. Studio is open for all those that want that Island experiece of how things use to be in days gone by, along with a little of todays time. Studio offers
mixed media paintings
carvings
hand painted bookmarks, cards, a beautiul sellection on had painted bags, pillows and much more, all locally made
Hope you stop by.....

So, someone dear to me is facing a financial difficulty during a high-risk pregnancy of twins, I have decided to add some of my paintings to support her cause, some of her friends started a GoFundMe for her, results have not been as we expected, not placing a blame I guess in a world where there is so much fraud going on sometimes real stories get buried in the wrong others have done, but we can't stop there.
On Thursday April 16th she was rushed to San Pedro Sula from La Ceiba because the babies wanted to come before their time, thank God, the doctors were able to contain her condition and she is now stable and back at home.

No one is immune to financial difficulties.
So if there is anyone out there looking for a piece of art, here is a good opportunity to own piece, while supporting a family in need.

We will be opening our doors soon, a place where we can learn about the Island traditions and culture through the eyes of native Islanders.

We waited for the month of May, with hearts of anticipation.
we got the fruits, tied them to the tree with thoughtful dedication.
Neighbors came from up and down, to join hands in this celebration.
Under a big full moon, and ring play tunes, who could resist the vibration.

As we embark on this December month, I can't help but share with you some things dear to my Heart... bits and pieces of our culture.
JUNKANOO dancers, part of the Island tradition and festivity, mens would dress up in the most funniest ways, going around the neighborhood with performances that would bring a laughter to every heart, sadly so much of this has been left behind.
At Islands art Gallery Museum we are endeavoring to preserve the richness of all parts that makes us who we are today.
