Did you know that all of our Djembe’s are hand crafted by masters and then shipped here to Hong Kong?

It is said in the Madinka legend, that djembe come about through a genie (known as a djinn) who gifted the tree to a Madinka blacksmith and taught him how to carve it into a djembe.

According to legend, djinns were normally considered to be impish and mischievous beings, however in this case, the djinn was actually quite helpful! With the Madinka’s newly crafted Djembe, tribes were able to communicate with each other over long distances because of their loud resonating sound.
